Congrats to Nicola and Davids engagement... though none of us were surprised =P.. we were looking at wedding dress just a few days before the proposal!
yeah im procrastinating.... godamn computing and quantum mechanics! >_
some new i got today.. elaine after several change of dates for her flight back to HK.. she has decided to stay... and not leave the UK till June... so yey!
hmmm... only a few days of 2010 left.... i think i enjoyed this year a lot. Been able to meet more awesome people, go to new places, experience new things. Had to say good bye to some people.. but im sure i'll see them again in the future! Had good times and some bad. It feels like this year has gone by so fast.. but when i try to recall what i've done it seems so long agooooooooooooo. ^_^ hoping 2011 will bring more awesomeness and fun!
yeah im not even gonna try to make a resolution....
aww i really want to recall the best bits of 2010 now.... i will get back to you on that =P

Snow
I have time to waste whilst i wait for my 15:45 train back to Birmingham, hopefully it'll be a smooth journey home.
LOTS of snow! and im loving it! ^_^~
kinna glad this week is over... stressful... had my group report and presentation to do this week... which went well i guess.. also had my obs tech lab to write up... also computing was in for friday.. but he moved to deadline to january.. which im glad he did... cos i cant do computing at all!! grrr... gonna be spending xmas teaching myself C++.. oh the fun~
oh! and my housing next year is properly sorted now! things didnt work out with the 7 person house i mentioned in a previous blog. so we started looking for a 5 person house (me, ross, penderz, lisa and chris).. looked at houses last wednesday.. didnt see any we really liked... saw a house on friday ( on richmond road).. I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!... ITS MASSIVE!!.... then looked at houses on saturday... we talked about it... went back to the estate agents for the richmond road house to just ask if we were to take it, how long would the paperwork take... found out that other people were interested... so we just agreed to take the house! spontaneously! ^_^! paid the agency fee then! and properly signing it after christmas! I CANT WAIT TO LIVE THERE!! I'LL GET A BIGGER ROOM!! gwahhhhh yeah and its £240 a month.. cheaper than im paying now... and an extra 5 minutes away, from physics, but closer to the shops!
*sigh* on the topic of housing.. if some of you didnt know my flatmate elaine.. failed her 1st year of medicine... and has basically spent the semester waiting for the results of her appeal.. (omg its annoying how long it took!).. yeah so she recently found the results... and basically shes gonna redo the 1st year, next academic year. So now shes leaving to go back home in HK next week and not coming back till next september ( well.. is coming back briefly in june to sort things out)... so next semester it'll just be me and jess in the flat... and the fact that jess is often on placements and is gone for the whole day... im gonna find myself... alone in the house alot more... =(... and we have the split the bills between 2 of us instead of the 3 of us..(elaine is still gonna pay rent)... next year is gonna be different....
anime soc christmas party was on wednesday night... we went to metros... and OMG! they played the pokemon theme tune... AND NO ONE REQUESTED IT!... either they've added it to the playlist... or the DJ saw me.. and felt like he had to play it =P!.. so i declare.. that i am the most awesome person.. ever!
oh and i have a new phone now.. samsung tocco lite... whitey was playing up and the battery was nearing its end.. so i'll let it die gracefully anf get a new phone.
i should get ready to leave now

OMFG!! POKE-BALL!!!
wow... another post so soon =P
yah this week has been one of my favourites so far... even with the stress of work and crap and the fact i was knackered for most of it; was literally falling asleep in my japanese class on monday night.
had my last lab session for my big G lab project on tuesday... and had to write up the lab report for friday!... >_<... in total i had 12 graphs to analyse each with repetitive calculations.. and i even worked out error!!
Omgz... wednesday was a long day.. had a extra lecture at 9 O'Clock.. normally i start at 11 on a wednesday. skipped my last 12 lecture to go home and do a little work and eat before going ice skating with tea party society at 2pm. I wouldn't have went but since im on committee i feel like i have to. It was goooooood.. i didnt fall over!! ^__^~~ then rushed home after to get some work done and get ready for the pokeball!
yeah had pre-drinks at dave and joes house... cos we made mudkip shots!!... they were awesome... noms! then off to the woodville pub for more drinkssssssssssssssssssssss. Im impressed by many peoples costumes.. some not so much =P... yeah it was awesome~
then off to our favourite sweaty underground club METROS!!! which have recently lowered their entry and drink prices on a wednesday night... £1.29 for a double!! AND THE FREAKIN' AWESOME DJ FINALLY AGREED TO PLAY THE POKEMON THEME TUNE!!!after many requests.. and creating a fb group to campaign... THEY PLAYED THE SONG IN METROS AND IT WAS AWESOME!!! BEST NIGHT EVER!!! man i was so tired that night.. actually went home earlier than i usually would, but it was amazing night
ahh thursday... had like 3 hours sleep? woke up at 6 ish and couldnt get back to sleep.... so meh.. was knackered but had my lab report and half of the theoretical physics to do!... so as soon as i got home at 4 i was working on my lab report.. and was knackeredddddddddddddd and went to sleep "early".. it was 12... had such a good sleep though.. even if i did oversleep. Wanted to get up earlier than i did to do my theoretical hmwk.. but that extra few hours of sleep was worth it after a stressful/tiring/epic week... and it got even better.. we got SNOW!!

well tonight im gonna sleep in my awesome rocking chair... i've wanted to do this for ages.. and only now actually doing it!
tomorrow sounds like a fun day too~~
signing for my house next year... im actually gonna leave in an actual house next year! not a flat!! yeys!! im not living with elaine and jess next yeah.. which im sad/glad about. Its a 7 person house, and tbh i only really know 2 of the people im living with; Ross and Penderz. They basically they want to stay in there current house next year, but atleast one of there current housemates wont be living there next year. So to prevent other people trying to rent it out next year they want to sign the contract asap to get it off the market for some reason the estate agent still let people view the house knowing that the current occupants want to stay there =S. So basically i heard of there situation... and my situation was that elaine and jess want to live closer to the hospital and i wanted to stay pretty much where i am now but in a bigger place; so i needed some other people to live with. So yeah! it was a win-win situation... as Ross and Penderz place is only 5 minutes from my current place and still close to everything.. and i'll get a much larger rooooooooooooooom.
Also my friend Andrew who graduated last year who is now currently living in London is coming down to visit for the weekend! so we're going out tomorrow night to that korean restaurant! then going out again sunday night to GBK!! gahhh!! yeah me and andrew belong to 2 different friendship groups... so thats why i've ended up going out twice! and i havent seen everyone in a while.. so i should go to both to see everyone~~~

H-baaaaaaa and Lambdaaaaaaa
ok! really i apologise for the lack of blogging and stuff....
I dont really have much to say.. or i have so much going on that i forget
Well the biggest most recent event is my Physics Gregynog trip... a 100% FREE trip which brought us to a old mansion/manor house in the middle of the welsh nowhere... it was a 3 day trip, monday till wednesday. the whole year was invited but only like 30 of us went; the others just wanted to have 3 days off to do nothing.. cos all lectures were cancelled during these 3 days. To be honest i was thinking of not going... but now.. im so glad i went; had such a great time!
The only down side to this trip was the lectures... we had several lectures... first being at 9:00 and the last at 20:00!!! grrr.... well... i wouldnt call them lectures really.... cos u could tell they were trying to acheive the same thing... making us thinking of careers; mainly in phD's or teaching... which im pretty sure i dont want to do either! so yeah i did miss some of them.. even had to run away from one too =P
Now for the fun times! swansea and aberystwth people were there too; tbh i didnt talk to them much... i met 2 girls from aberystwth who i found so annoying!!.. they wouldn't shut up!!! >__Since only half of my usual prelim physics people didnt go... it gave a good opportunity to get to know the other people on my course outside of lectures! PHYSICISTS ARE AWESOME!!
The House we stayed in was amazinggggggggggg... i have no idea how many rooms it had.. but there were many!.. and it has a library with insanely old books! and there were atleast 4 grand pianos! and a discovered that several people in my year are amazing pianists too! We got fed like 5 times aday!... FREE FOOD! OMG!! YUMMY!! and they had a bar in the basement woooooooOOOoooooooooo... so we got wasted and played poker/pokemon monopoly after lectures! I WON AT POKER!! OMGZ!! IM AMAZING! =P
so the sutton girls lot have done a round of catch up emails, it was great to hear about what everyone has been up to.. and i have to congratulate mohan again on her engagement!! ^__^!! so happy for you!! and Nicolas expected engagement!! WOOOooooooOOOOooooooOOOOOO!!!
yeah it was funny to see how almost everyone is like... i've been with so and so for so and so years/months..... i didnt realise how many of you were in relationships! man, it made you all seem so OLD!!!
My friends also had a conversation, one of my friends' high school friends is like married and has a child now.... ITS SO WEIRD! someone our age married and already having children!... true its not rare.. but its so weird to hear about a person whose around the same age as you but who are at a completely different stage in their life as you!... and then we reflect on our own lifes and realise we're not even anywhere close. Honestly I dont want to waste my youth and grow up faster than i need to.. in an idea world i wouldnt have to grow up at all! but you can't have everything!
Anyway next Wednesday is the anime society's Poke-ball!!... im so excited!! i made a koffing dress for it... im not gonna blow my own trumpet... but i'm rather proud of it ^__^... i'll show pictures later! i was gonna make a Goldeen dress... but we're going to a club notoriously known for being very sweaty and dirty... and wearing a white dress is not the best of ideas... but yah! so excited!! ^_^!!
anyway i should get back to doing some work!

Opinion please....
If a friend told you a secret... and you believe that what they are doing is "wrong". You've told this friend that you think it's wrong and they should stop, since it not good for them emotionally (and financially). You know that it's unlikey that they would listen you, would you break your friends trust by telling someone that they highly respect and is more likely to help this friend?? Is it worth the risk?
Maybe I should keep my nose out of it.... But as a friend I feel that he needs to stop for his own sake, because at the it's not going to be worth it in the end ...

sorry for being a lazy bum
wow sorry for the lack of blogging.. its been.. almost a month??
well first i was going to blog about vietnam, but i dunno what to say. I enjoyed my time there.. and it's changed alot since the last time i had been there, almost 10 years ago. Running water and flushing toilets are not a rare thing to see anymore, thank god! the roads near my grandmas home are far less dusty and bumpy and the mosquito's wheren't as bad as i remembered them. I love air con!... and glad that both my mums family and dads family have it installed in there homes cos without it i would've died!! but i'll have to admit the humid whether made my face really soft~~
I MISS THE GODDAMN FOOD! i was in the chinese supermarket and reminiscing about the viet food... i miss PHO!... and its so cheap! the average price of a bowl of pho works out to be £1!!! gaaaaaaaaaaaah!! i think im turning into a ramen snob.... i mean pho and ramen are similar as in there both a noodle soup dish; but pho is far more flavoursome and yummy ^_^..... ramen in comparison is basically... bland... lols... but i guess cos i've never had proper ramen made in japan i can't really say... and i probs have a biased opinion anyway =P....
There where so many korean restaurants around and japanese restaurants too!.. shame my dad is picky about food.. and dislikes japanese food for it's blandness..(which i have to admit i can agree with at times); so didnt get to eat any; but i didnt mind since i can eat as much viet food as i wantttttttttttttttttttt ^__^~~~
ok.. i have returned after a few hours to finish this.. but now i've lost my train of thought..
well anyway im back in cardiff ^_^... been exactly a week~~ past few days have been woaaaaaaaaah... so good to see people again! ^_^ and looking forward to meeting new people too!... im still gonna be with anime soc ^_^~ and tea party society. not bothering with jap soc cos all my friends in that society have gone to japan this year to study. Korean soc im not going to bother with cos they did nothing last year. And im probs gonna be adopted into gaming society since i already know all in the cool people in gaming soc. To be honest anime, gaming and tea party soc are essentially the same people =P
the other day... I remembered...(vicky should remember).. but we made a list of definitions of love during maths.... and to those who are/have been "in love".... do love songs make sense to you now??.... yeah im basically aiming this at mohan.. =P.... who practically has a husband now =P

Hmmmmm~~~~~
I'm leaving for vietnam next saturday!! OMGZ!!... kinna ished packed.. need a few bits and bobs and that.. but yeah... i havent really thought about it though... been in a daze for the past couple of weeks.. lost sense of time... so yeah can't believe its so close!.. i dont even feel prepared.. AT ALL!!... so the lack of any excitement...
Found out vietnam has blocked facebook.. the ban started around the end of last year.. -___-".... grr... so annoying! damn you socialists!!!

i recently found a torrent.. about 6GB worth of physics txtbooks!! score!!! ^___^!! .... and thats a lotta txtbooks... =P.... this is a perfect reason why i should get an iPad =P lols...

Blehness~~~
*sigh*
I'm missing cardiff..... practically every dream i've had since i got back has people from uni in it!.. well i know im not only one feeling this way... alot of them are bored being at home too and missing interaction with awesome people too =P
I have 12 days till i leave for HK/vietnam.. havent really thought about it though.. keep putting it off.. buts its nearly hereeeeee... and i havent really started packing... i havent even planned what i need to bring with me!
Pokeupdate.. defeated the elite 4 in platinum and caught the main legendarys in that. Defeated the elite 4 on sliver and just got in to kanto.. though just spending the time evolving pokemon.... though i think its best if i trade over a few to platinum to train; and carry on playing silver while leveling a few pokemon while i travel around.
Actually havent played pokemon for the past two days!... i blame my new toy.. an iPod Touch.. a gift for my awesomeness =P.. to be honest i use it for its apps... i dont really use it for music... well to be fair i never leave the house; so whats the point =P damn ipod touch has increased my usage of twitter. Been playing peggleeeeeeeeeeee... seriously i already have it on my DS and i can play it online...meh.. PEGGLE IS AWESOME!!... and the graphics look far better on the ipod than on the DS. Wants to get streetfighterVI app... £5.99... pretty pricey for an app... but if u think about it... PS3 is £200+ and the game is £20~ish. Works out pretty good!... but i wonder if there gonna bring out a superstreetfighter VI app... maybe i should wait for that....
*sigh* everyone is off on holidayssssssssss... since i've gotten back i've only seen nicola and vicky!! and it sucks i cant make it to nandi and mushs b'day =(... since im flying out that daayyyyyyyy.

Just got my results this afternoon, after many nervous mornings of signing into my uni email and finding an email.. most of the time its spam from the Institute of Physics.. -__-".. and finally! today! i got them! AND I PASSED ALL OF THEM! so glad... i was so scared i would have to resit dynamicsandrelativity cos that exam was hideous... thankfully... i got 41 =P... yeah so just passed that but a pass is a pass.. and the results this year dont count in my final mark.

SO FINALLY, I CAN RELAX and not have to worry about resitting and having to revise while i was in vietnam ^__^.. and i can continue to play pokemon and not feel guilty because i should be revising.
Update on the pokemon.. though you lot dont care.. i've actually been spending most of my time on platinum and finished it this morning... well not completely. I've been watching all the pokemon movies recently..( theres currently 12.. a 13th coming out this summer).. and the movies got me really into the story of the diamond/pearl/platinum series, far more than when i played diamond first time round. I've also collected a majority of items i need to evolve a bunch of my pokemon on platinum so im gonna have to spend a session of using my sisters DS to trade over a bunch of pokemon.
OMG FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST-BROTHERHOOD!! last episode was out yesterday!.. well.. really the previous episode was THE end.. this episode just tied up the loose ends. GWAHHHHHHHHHHH!! i wont spoil it for anyone whose still/planning to watch it. but gwahh!!! tears in my eyes!! and i see why they named this series "brotherhood"... so heartwarming ^_^~~

Pokélist
Since Uni isn't taking up my time... i've been spending most of my time playing pokemon (soul silver)... been playing it for a while... though i take very long since i like spending time training my pokemon... and not just my main 6 but a variety of pokemon.. so it takes me agesssss.... i change my 6 so regularly i dont even have a permanent team of 6. I recently got my 8th badge in johto and caught lugia ^_^.. and should be off to battle the elite 4!... but im not planning to do that for a bit; since im determined to catch/obtain as many pokemon as possible!.. which causes a distraction which is obviously slowing me down considerably.. but they tell you to catch 'em all!! SO I GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!..
Goals
- to get all the evolutions of eevee... yes i breeded a eevee with ditto, so i ended up with like 8 eevee's... so far i only have jolteon... since i dont have all the stones yet!!.. which means i have to spend alot of time at the pokeathlon, to get enough points to get stones~~... this i guess is going to be an ongoing thing~~
- obtains as many stones as possible to evolve a bunch of pokemon
- get round to evolve my slowpoke to a slowking
- catch entei!.. god i keep running into it.. but im never prepared!
- evolve my magmar into a magmortar!!
- at some point using my R4 and my sisters DS... i can get both chikorita and totodile.... since i chose cyndaquil at the start.... also using the R4 since i can get pokemon off the diamond/pearl/platinum series ^__^.. and also using platinum to train my pokemon faster..... yeah i've started playing platinum again~~

Shorts Shorts Shorts
wow first blog post as a 20 yr old... i'm still the same 17 yr old inside =P... yeah i never did get to learn everything when i turned 20... which im glad, so i can remain the same and never really grow up.
I've been up to a lot since exams finished... till when i came back to B'ham. Since i've been back i've done very little.. spending most of my time playing pokemon... =P... went shopping today to buy shorts for VN... ended up in HMV... bad habit i've picked up.. ended up buying the complete 1,2,and 3 seasons of IT Crowd for £20, and the schwarzenegger 4 movie collection (£7 marked down from £30, score!! ^_^)... this is for my "dad" for fathers day... ok really its for me =P... i know my dad.. we'll watch it once and he'll forget we ever had it... so it all works out! I have the most girlest movie collection ever! NOT!... seriously i've just noticed that all my DVD's are either anime/comedy/action... not a rom-com/chick flick in sight!

sigh.. only 5 days left of being a teen.. and i have to spend the majority of it revising/taking exams.. my last exam is on june 3rd 9am..15 hours before i turn 20...
vicky reminded me of my list of things to do before i turn 20.. and honestly i think i wrote it when i was in a weird mood... so after i wrote it i totally forgot about it... and if ur wondering... i dont think i achieved much on there anyway
im kinna looking forward to my birthday..and not.. in different ways...
1)Fairy party!! yeah!! we're going out to gay bars!! with some of us dressed as fairies.. (it was mandatory but it seems a bit distasteful)

2)... birthday slideshow....
heres the background info... you know how my physics friends are mostly guys.. well sexual innuendos /jokes.. are a staple in our conversations... and you know ME!! ... i know NOTHING!!.. i dont get the jokes half the time... so we agreed when i turned 20... they would tell me EVERYTHING O_O!!..... so i told my friends at anime soc about this... and somehow managed to suggest some one should make a slideshow... so now my friend alex is making a slideshow... and theres photoshop involved -___-"

Frick!! 20 days till im 20!!!
sigh... wow i havent blogged in a whole month....
sorry =P
im almost half way through my exams taken 2 out of the 5.. the next one is on monday.. maths II... which i'll be okay ... i know i'll pass it.. whether i get a good mark or not depends if i really work on differential equations and probability.
grrr.. astro exam was on thursday.. gah!! 1st question was good.. the rest.. eek!... hopefully i got enough marks to pass... really not allowed to resit, since i would be in vietnam!!
coming home next weekend.. just for the weekend... since after the exam on monday my next exam is on 2nd June
*sigh*... i wished uni lasted longer... i love my friends at uni... eventhough i just get abused by most of them; I think i will miss them alot after i leave uni, i dont even know what i want to do after uni... i dont want it to end! because i have to go into the real world!! GAHHHH!!
ick... turning 20.... such an ugly number....
gahhh i've somehow got in to a phase where i label people my favourite whatever... but i somehow also upset other people.. so i end up making more to keep everyone happy -__-"

its been almost a month since i last posted.. yes.. i've been lazy/busy
and i currently ache all over from the animesoc ninja social last night, which was awesommmmmmmmmme.. as always =P
so easter.. didnt do much met up with people blah blah.. attempted work.. finished some of the work
dragged vicky down to cardiff with me ^_^.. went shopping and ate a lot of cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese then nandi, mush,kim and ichi came down the next day and we shopped some moreeeeeeeee and ate moreeeeeeeeeeeeeee. so good to see (almost) everyone again! had so much fun!! ^__^!!
brought a ball pit after everyone left =P.... its awesome.....
BBQ on the saturday with animesoc... ended up at hmv to buy movies.. went to joes to watch terminator 2 and torso.... torso was a dissapointment... i expected more whores and more saws!!... then went to buffalo bar..
sunday.. stayed in.. i was expected elaine to come back that day.. but she recently got food poisoning from sashimi and wasnt allowed on the plane cos of the painkillers.. (i swear she spends more time in the hospital being treated than actually learning).. sunday caught up on some hmwk~~~
ahhh back to lectures.. didnt feel like we left at all!! but the sun staying out longer has messed me up... i think i have plenty of time since the sun is out.. BUT NOOOO!! its already 8pm and i havent even lifted up my pen!! btw the weather here has been so niceeeeeeeee.. wanna be out there all the timeeeeeeeeeeee
gahh wednesday!! was the first tea party social tailcoats and tophats FTW!! then after that was stuarts birthday... which was a bit awkward people keep running in and out... and mark getting very drunk and singing.. *sigh* im gonna miss them when they leave for japan next year =(

finally back in Birmingham, im still confused whether i want to be here or not... i guess theres pro's and cons about both places
*sigh* so a while back while messing around in the comp lab.. i realised that it was 80 or so days till my birthday... that made me feel crap... and it still is.. as i only have 74 days left now... doesnt sound like very much now doesnt it?... i know out of my friends im on the younger end... so they probs all think im some childish douchebag, but u know how i feel about getting old... i mean i'll no longer be a teenager!!... honestly i dont think im sad cos of the actual number... i think its just the fact that i feel like i've acheived very little in my 19 years. Like... have u ever played "I have never...".... i never get to drink in that game!! cos i havent done anything!!
So i want to create a list of things to do before i turn 20... but the timing actually sucks!! cos i have to revise and write a report and take exams during this time too!! lols.. i actually asked for suggestions on FB... yeah got no help there... just a running continuation of my failing/cougarness and alcoholism... i have the bestest friends dont i? =P
so first on my list is 1) to not fail my summer exams
2) Learn a majority of the constellations, and to just lie in the grass and watch the stars
3) Learn all of my relatives names ( theres a lot!! >_<)
4) Go to a casino
5) Spend the whole day eating ice cream and nothing else
6) Have an asian drama moment =P
7) Watch 2 girls 1 cup ... but not on my own...
8) Say "yes" to almost every opportunity i get given
9) To get wrapped up in bubble wrap
10) To attempt to introduce myself to everyone in my year on my course ^_^

*sigh* im so tired -___-".... sorry i havent blogged in awhile.. i have a brief moment to spare so i thought i'll start blogging something....
so basically.. i've been up to so much recently that im tired.. and i cant even remember what i've been doing! well i'll start off with this week... monday.. went to Fun Factory(union).. for hollie's boyfriend birthday.. who btw i think is a total douche and hollie can do so much better than him! it was so last minute.. it was 9:30pm.. and i was about to go have a shower then sam rings and was like.. HOLLIES' HOUSE... 5 MINUTES..DRINKING!!....*sigh*.. i was already knackered all monday..sigh... so i had my shower and off i went to the union. the union closes at 2.. while i was there i ran in to mike whose on my course and was trying to convince me to go to live lounge in town.. they got me a 1/4 of the way there.. and then i ran home to SLEEP!! =P
So cos of that.. i continued to be tired all day tuesday...
Wednesday!! was iestyns birthday party thing, and the theme was 80's characters.. i went as Sakura from street fighter... cos i was lazy and already had half the costume =P gaz and nathan went has ryu and ken.. iestyn and sam went as ninja turtles.. owain, as rambo.. josh as a ghostbuster..hollie as cheetara from thundercats, laurence as a FLOPPY DISC!! LOLOLOLOLOL!! =P Yeah! had a great night.. went to METROS!!!...
Tonight i've got anime screening.. then saturday is Adi's birthday.. sunday we're going to have yum cha... next wednesday is louisas/hollies birthday doo-daa~~~..next thursday is anime soc dinner thingy.. *sigh*.. just when i think im gonna have a quiet week....more events keep turning up... THIS IS HOW Feburary became so busy! >_<... i hate turning people down.. and i like my friends!! ALL my friends!!.. so thats why i end up going to everythingggggggggg.. and i dont have a good enough excuse not to go anyway~~

I got my exam results back last friday!!

So yey!! i didnt fail anything!!!... and atoms must be hard!! that exam i found the easiest but its my lowest mark! but the lecturer for that is apparently very picky when marking. Im happy with my results anyway ^__^!! oh! and i got the mark from my long lab report on x-rays 17/20!! yeys!! ^_^!!
Its Lunar New Year on sunday, and again last night i attempted to work our the order of the animals in the zodiac(which i seem to do every year.. and never really completing it)... i couldnt remember what animal it was gonna be! i was missing 3 animals.. and one of them the animal of 2010. I eventually succumbed and googled it... its the year of the TIGER!! GRRR....!!
Im coming home this weekend!!.. but i wont have any time to see any of you guys =(.. dont think im coming back till easter now....
What have i been up to.. oh! on friday i went to see "Princess and the Frog" gwahhh!! i LOVE it!! good ol' Disney fairytale goodness~~ though with a twist.. cos the princess isn't actually a Princess. GWAH! i love it! but what annoyed me was that that kept wishing to the "Evening Star"!! ITS NOT A FREAKIN' STAR!! the evening star is Venus!! A PLANET!! anyway anyway.. loves it.... love ray the firefly and louis the gator~~ OMG! i hate the prince/frog.. arrogant, lazy, player kinna type~~~
Saturday i ended up going to james and marks place at like 11pm to bake a cake.... =P... we ended up going to the river and sitting there for like 2 hours.. in the cold!! LOLs.. got home at 4 =P theres no longer any awkwardness between me and james ^__^ yeys!! though he kept telling me to go kiss stuart... my response... NO! kissing is icky!!.... cos u know what?.... it IS!! O_O!!

INDOOR VOICE!!
Was I always that loud that people keep telling me to use my indoor voice??
I know i can very VERY quiet... but then at times im very VERY loud... apparently... i dont think im loud...
Oliver whose in my lab sessions commented that everyone can hear no matter where I am in the Lab
Dave whose a 4th year physicist said that once we was walking pass the lab and he could still hear me!
*sigh* but i guess majority rules.. since pretty much every group of friends I hang out with... SOMEONE will tell me to shush! and use my indoor voice!!
I think everyone in my year group probs thinks im some massive spaz
hmm.. i think my tolerance in alcohol has decreased recently... last friday i had 3 drinks... and i was drunk-y... though i blame it on the fact that i was drinking sitting down... which i swear DOES make a difference!!
though... yesterday we went to metros!! yeah! pre-drank at sams.. where i did actually drink like 2/3 of a bottle of coke mixed with vodka... and the whole night i just had 3 double whiskey and cokes!... im reasonable fine after that amount of drink!!...but not yesterday! i was so much more drunk... i was like to jason... im oscillating~~~~ (cos i literally was!!).. and he was like.. yeah! like a sine wave!! =P... i woke up this morning really dehydrated!! like my throat and HANDS!! were dry!!
my theory is... cos normally i drink like litres of tea a day!! which keeps me hydrated!... but since my case of food poisoning i havent drunk any tea!... so since i find it easier to drink loads of tea than to drink loads of water.. my body has been less hydrated than it is normally. Which is probs why im getting drunk faster.... i'll see...if this theory works... gotta drink more tea!! and go drink some more!!

Twiddles!!~~~
*sigh* first week of the new semester~~~ has gone by so fast!
but before i go on about about, my exam on friday.. which went better than i expected!! theres 4 questions and u pick 3 to answer... the first was on the bainbridge mass spectrometer, 2nd was on photoelectric effect, 3rd on electron diffraction and the 4th on the lennard-jones 6-12 potential (i predicted that would come up in the exam, but its about thermodynamics... so never really understood it.. and luckily i knew the other 3 questions much better!) so glad that schrodinger didnt come up ^_^.
so anyway.. on Tuesday! after lectures.. me, nathan and sam.. went to subway... nathan had the meatball marinara sub and i had a tub of meatballs.... both of us where hit by food poisoning.. both throwing up by the time evening came round.. and we BOTH had a fever.. and BOTH didnt go to lectures on wednesday... so yeah.. dont have any meatballs from subway if ur in cardiff any time soon... but im feeling so much better today. But last night has jess's bday meal at nandossssssss.. and i didnt eat much.. like an 1/8th of a chicken... gahhhhhhhh so envious!.. need to go to nandosssssssssssssssssssss again~~~.. need some tasty chicken!!
*sigh* so i've started all my modules apart from one... electricity and magnetism.. which was on wednesday.. which i didnt go in for.. i felt kinna bad cos my tutor is teaching that module! oh well..
anyway basically all my new modules.. seems to be MATHS!! like i have a maths II module.. which ok.. but then Dynamics and Relativity... is maths and mechanics maths; astrophysical concepts so far has been looking at formulas and how to derive them. vibrations and waves.. well.. since its waves.. and we like expressing waves in mathematical form... *sigh* why havent i accepted that alot of physics is just very fancy maths...
oh some of u already know that im going to Vietnam this summerrrrrrrrr... been almost 10 years since ive been back there.. bet its changed looooooooooooooads!!! and i bet i wont be able to recognise most of my relatives. We're gonna drop off in HK for a few days on the way tooooooooooooooo ^_^!! yeys!.. like for 4 days... thats gonna be a very busy 4 days, but my main priority is trying to see as many people as possible, especially kiki!.. since she was an exchange student for only half a year.. so this is a good chance to see her again!
So i've been looking at plane tickets.. and u know..... flying to vietnam is EXPENSIVE!!! returns are like £1000 and upwards!!... but since we stopping off in HK ive been looking for tickets to HK.. tickets from HK to VN... then tickets from VN to the UK... which on average is around £1000 altogether..... so might as well kill 2 birds with one stone!!

waves are very important........mmmm...pi~~~
I have ONE more exam to go! on fridayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and im dreading it... atoms, nuclei and matter... -__-" ... half of the module is the basics of quantum theory.. which is interesting to learn about, but so hard to understand!! and the second half is on thermodynamics which i hate and dont understand, since its really boring so i can't be bothered.
so i really shouldnt be blogging.. but i thought a good way to revise is to explain it to others.. so this post is gonna really all over the place..
so lets start at the beginning.. with the atom; originally thought to be indivisible by the ancient greeks
fast forward to 1897 where the electron was discovered by J J Thomson with his cathode ray experiment~~~ then Millikan came with his oil drop experiment and gave us the charge and mass of the electron.
Thomson came up with the "plum pudding" model of the atom. A "pudding" of positive charge with "plums" of negative charge equally positioned in the "pudding".
This model of the atom was soon disproved by Rutherford's scattering experiment.
His experiment consists of a alpha particle source, a very thin piece of gold foil and something to detect the alpha particles on the other side.
So basically the idea was to shoot alpha particles at this thin piece of gold foil and look at how much the alpha particles were deflected by the positive "pudding". Thomsons model predicted that the alpha particles would deflect by a small angle, since the positive and negative charge would be spread out equally. But this was not the case... in reality a majority of the alpha particles went straight through the foil with no deflection, and a small %-age of the alpha particles were deflected by LARGE angles.. up to 180 degrees!
Thus Thomson was incorrect and Rutherford came up with the model we use today. Where the positive charge is concentrated in the centre; the nucleus and negative electrons whizzing around.
Rutherford was also able to calculate the radius of the nucleus, using coulombs law and equating it with the kinetic energy of the alpha particle
q/4pi E r^2 = 1/2 mv^2
this told us that the nucleus has a radius of 10^-15 m , compared to the radius of the atom which is around 10^-10m... the nucleus is 100,000 times smaller than the whole atom!! meaning that the atom is actually mostly made up of empty space, which corresponds to the fact that alot of the alpha particles went straight through the gold foil~~~
oo the next part is one of my favourites

used to determine the mass of ions! which also led to the discovery of isotopes!
at this point i would draw a diagram.. but that requires too much work to blog up.. so ur stuck with a bunch of equations =P

I have 7 pairs of shoes with me in cardiff... i just counted... didnt think i had that many shoes... well.. like 3~4-ish are boots... ankley boots... i dont wear half of them... cos they hurt toooooooo muchhhhhhhhhh >_<...
had my first exam yesterday; maths prac... wasnt too bad.. its the easier exam out of the 2 maths exams i have. I think i did ok, well enough to pass the module.. i hope =P... some of the integration looked gross... so i skipped some.. the module is 70% of the module... and need 40% overall to pass... so yeah.. im too lazy to work out the minimum i needed to pass =P
Tomorrow is cosmos, i enjoy the topics in this module.. but i dont think its taught well... i have to memorise a bunch of equations cos its not in the formula book and the past papers aren't very generous when giving us equations. The thing with astronomy/astrophysics/cosmology (i honestly dont know the difference between the 3.. i just now its about things in space; but im very sure that none of this is astrology)... theres like several different units for distance (e.g. Km, pc, AU, etc....).... and different equations use different units!.. so i have to remember which units to use with which equation!! GAH!.... and im still unsure about the hole critical density thing.. i just know it determines if the universe is closed,flat or open. oh.. im still unsure where the hell they got the idea of dark energy from.. all i know is that it takes up around 75% of the universe and is the reason why the universe is expanding... (lol, im talking about dark energy as if its fact.. its not... its just a theory since we have yet to discover it, and theres a chance that it doesnt exist at all~~~)
*sigh* this is what happens when u spend too much time revising... physics has ended up in all my blogposts recently... well.. atleast im educating you lot =P... kind of...
when revising/researching physics on the internet, i waste alot of time reading topics which arent gonna be in my exam, i mean there vaguely about my topic since thats how i find them.. buts its not gonna be my exam!!... so instead if i stumble on anything interesting i'll bookmark it, and read it on a later date.. so yeah... currently a majority of my bookmarks are rather geeky looking...
hmm... u know i think i get in to phases where i find elaine annoying...cos its come again... shes my friend and all... but u can love someone yet find them annoying at the same time. example... she sometimes puts on a "cutesy" voice..or purposely talks with an overbite(thats how i describe it.. im not sure how to describe it but thats the best i can do)... grrr... i find it annoying when people put on cutesy voices randomly... whats the purpose of it?!... u just sound STUPID!!!
example 2.. i have empty terry chocolate wrappers in my bin... when she walked in to my room to tell me something.. i forgot what she wanted to tell me .. she then asked what was that in my bin?... like why are u interested in my rubbish?!?!... (note: shes from HK, doesnt know what a terrys chocolate orange is...).
example 3.. i think this is a kind of personality clash.. like im kind of easygoing, dont want to cause a fuss, as long as the other person is happy im not really fussed about my own well being. Elaine is more... "you can only do this whenever im comfortable with it", "u have to organise around my schedule, not the other way round". So basically the situation is like this.. since elaines window is single glazed, unlike the other windows; the landlord wants to replace it since its causing damp problems. So he was meant to do it during xmas; so before we left for xmas elaine moves all her stuff in to jess's room for the holiday. But cos it was christmas not many people are around to work, so the landlord couldnt do it during the holidays. So we rescheduled for the coming saturday for him to come fix it. Then yesterday.. elaine came to me and was like.. im gonna ring the landlord to tell him not to come this week and wait till easter to replace the window; her reason.. cos she has an exam on the 1st of February, hmmm.. which is 3 bloody weeks away!!.. her valid reason is that she'd need to move stuff around and clean stuff after the window is replaced and she wont have time for ding all of that. SERIOUSLY!! replacing a window will take like an hour... u'll only have to move half ur stuff to the other side of the room.. and replacing a window is not a messy job *sigh* making such a big fuss!! the whole thing will take like half a day!! bleh.. i told her my opinion.. but in the end its her room.. her window... her decision.
oh! we had loads of snow last nighttttttttttttttt... so yeah its was 12 in the evening and i joined keith and this housemate in the snowwwwwwwww... keith was throwing snowballs at my window!!... got back at 1 with wet hair.... -___-"~~~....

had my first exam yesterday; maths prac... wasnt too bad.. its the easier exam out of the 2 maths exams i have. I think i did ok, well enough to pass the module.. i hope =P... some of the integration looked gross... so i skipped some.. the module is 70% of the module... and need 40% overall to pass... so yeah.. im too lazy to work out the minimum i needed to pass =P
Tomorrow is cosmos, i enjoy the topics in this module.. but i dont think its taught well... i have to memorise a bunch of equations cos its not in the formula book and the past papers aren't very generous when giving us equations. The thing with astronomy/astrophysics/cosmology (i honestly dont know the difference between the 3.. i just now its about things in space; but im very sure that none of this is astrology)... theres like several different units for distance (e.g. Km, pc, AU, etc....).... and different equations use different units!.. so i have to remember which units to use with which equation!! GAH!.... and im still unsure about the hole critical density thing.. i just know it determines if the universe is closed,flat or open. oh.. im still unsure where the hell they got the idea of dark energy from.. all i know is that it takes up around 75% of the universe and is the reason why the universe is expanding... Mohan Smells
I'VE FINISHED!! I'VE PRINTED OFF MY STUPID X RAYS LAB REPORT AND IM GONNA GIVE IT IN TOMORROW!! ALMOST A WEEK BEFORE THE DUE DATE! im such a nerd... =P... and i hate referencing... like they care anyway... i only did 8.. but i swear i used more.. but i can't be bothered to go find things again! and I dont have errors for a few of my values... cos i can't calculate them! and can't be bothered to see if it is possible... well i have some error in it anyway... bleh.. i can stop thinking about it now and get down to some proper revision! FINALLY!!
Anyway.. mohan got tagged by a random person.. and now she tagged me.. so here are my 7 random things
1) I like objects that have pictures of food on them, and if the food have faces on them I like them even more~~
2) I like eating fresh herbs, so basically leaves... coriander and sweet basil being my favourites
3) Apparently my indoor voice is the same as my outdoor voice... and i get even louder when i've got any alcohol in the system
4) I feel that that my taste in music is very varied, and i would advice everyone NOT to use shuffle on my itunes
5) I know very little about my family's history.. i only recently just found out that one of my uncles lost his leg during the war and he has a fake leg! (to be fair he lives in California and i've only visited him twice!)
6) I'm a tabs whore on firefox...i open pretty much open every link as a tab (i currently have 13 tabs open as i type this)
7) I had an unintentional habit of buying clothing that has mickey/minnie mouse on them... but now its become intentional since i noticed this~~

I should be in bed by now.. going back to cardiff tomorrow!.. dunno if im happy about it or not... im glad to get back, to see everyone again! and i dont have to see my sister anymore and make cups of tea for people! and i can get away from the distractions of having a busy family..... but.. when i get back its the realisation that have exams very soon.. and i've barely done any revision for it!!
I have 4 exams, the first on the 12th the last on the 22nd. The exams are actually pretty well spaced out.. and the 2 harder exams are in the 2nd week or exams! so i still have time! It sounds like i've done no work during the holidays.. but thats a LIE!.. i've been doing my Long Lab report which is due on the 11th; my lab report is on x rays.. omg, when i first sat down to write this up i wanted to die.... when you doing the investigation in the lab you have no idea what and why your doing this crap, cos u just want to get the results and get out of there asap!.. so i was reading my write up.. O_O??.... wahhh... so yes i had to read up on it and now i know a ton about x rays and if a knew more about electronics i could probably build an x ray machine. i've done the majority of my lab now... 9 pages of rambling crap about energy levels and electrons! ^_^~~... i really wanna finish this soon so i can get on with proper revision!!.. man! i hope one of my exams has a massive question on X rays!!... but its unlikely... cos we never really talked about in my other modules... apart from cosmos where x rays are used to look at stars and galaxies....
anyway!
hope u all had a good Christmas and new year!.. i spent both Christmas and new years playing guitar hero/band hero... im getting better on the drums! ^_^~~.. get to see the whole family again ^_^.... yeys! and FOOOOOOOOOOD!! i swear literally... my family practically "celebrates" Christmas for 3 days!! we have the Christmas party at my aunts house.... boxing day the kids go out to the movies (this year was sherlock holmes) and meet up at my aunts house again to eat left overs... and the next day is to go to my house to eat and drink some more. =P...
well.. its 2010 now.... 2009..was a ok-ish year.. could've been better; i hope 2010 is going to be a better one!.. hmm.. anyone know what this decade is called now... what do we have after the noughties??..the teenies?..
I dont do new years resolutions, mainly cos i forgot them after a week but i feel like i should have a few this year, well there more of changes that need to happen...
1) Write up notes after my lectures... my notes last semester are appalling, dreading having to revise from them
2) Waste less time
3) Read more
4) Be more careful with money.. gonna try to limit my spendings to £50 a week~~
*sigh* was looking at my timetable for the coming semester... i dont like it as much as last semester... mondays are practically the same!! suicidal labs at the end of every monday. luckily i dont have computer lab on tuesdays anymore!! omg.. i wanted to kill myself near the end of last semester in computer lab! wednesdays i practically spend the whole day with my personal tutor, Dr Hargrave.. he teaches the electricity and magnetism module. So Wednesday morning we have a E&M lecture then have out tutorials with our personal tutor then a E&M exercise class after! Im not really complaining, he's a nice guy! and its useful that he's teaching one of my modules, gets more help =P. He's was actually part of the Herschel space telescope program, helped to build it and stuff. If u dont know.. Herschel is the largest space telescope out there in space, currently; it was launched in May 2009. Basically its like the Hubble space telescope, but instead of looking at visible light it looks at infra red light instead.
ANYWAY!
