its been a while since i last blogged... but im kinna bored so im try and blog about something

so last weekend i came back to birmingham ^_^ yeys! came back on friday around 3! so met up with mohan, since no one was freeeeeeeeeee, decided to meet up at aston uni so mohan could show me aroundddddddddddd. TONS of asianss!! its alot smaller than cardiff.. though im not surprised since cardiff is so spread out~~ they have there own subway in the GUILD! (omg its so weird to me hearing GUILD.. since im used to calling it the SU). so had the tour.... the business school has hairy glass hanging from the ceiling =S. After the tour we went to woktastic! this is actually been the 6th time i've eaten since returning to cardiff... i had ramen this time! which i didnt have the other 5 times i went.. but seriously... if anyone wants to take me to a japanese restaurant in the next couple of weeks... i will punch their face in.... getting bored of the menu.....

The reason i went back to birmingham last weekend is cos my aunt from america is visiting us for the week, the last time my dad saw her was more than 20 years ago when my dad visited her in the US. This is her first time to meet my mum and me and jess. Shes so short, and has an american accent; shes much older than my dad.. i think by around 10 years i think. I think shes adorableeeeeeeeeeeeee. I feel kinna bad for only getting to stay for the weekend, she arrived on saturday morning and i left sunday afternoon. It would've been nice to hear all the stories about my dad and my uncles and learn abit more about my family.

My aunt whose name is kim, she left vietnam when my dad was only 14, my dad had 6 other brothers and sisters, kim was the oldest... she practically raised all her brother and sisters since my grandparents we're too busy... kim actually said that my grandmother "didn't know how to look after children".... im unsure on all the details, but she left vietnam.. with an american soldier and they got married and had 2 kids... I HAVE HALF AMERICAN COUSINS!... they're really old now anyway.. ones chris and the other michelle. Chris is actually married and has 2 little girls.. WHO HAVE BLONDE HAIR!!.. I HAVE BLONDE RELATIVES!! .... its weird they dont look asian AT ALL!!... Kim has lived in the US for so long she prefers talking in english, where she lives theres only one other vietnamese family around, so its hard to keep speaking vietnamese when there isnt many people around who'll understand you. Anyway.. she divorced her soldier husband at some point.. then got married again... but got divorced again.. so shes single and living on her own now. i wish i could've stayed longer, have no idea when i'll get the chance to see her again, i wanna meet my cousins too! i doubt she'll take another trip over here, shes getting oldddddddd; but i hope we'll get to go to the US and visit her soon! my mum actually wanted to go to america last summer but my dad said nooooooooo... he wants to go to vietnam first. I think we're going this summer... hopefully..., my dad hasnt even started applying for the visas though he said was gonna get them done since the start of the yearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This week has been pretty busy.. since i didnt get any hmwk done over the weekend, and monday is a full day and then we had the physics social pub crawl in the evening, got home at 2:30.. i think...... had absinthe for the first time... wasnt very exciting.. though i finally had that Margarita slush puppy thingy! it was colddddddddddddddddddd
Tuesday night was the japsoc halloween party, it started at 7:30.... cos i was too lazy to pay.. and the money was really for the food... and i didnt want to eat there.. so i just joined late. MAN there were so many asians... but i didnt bother to talk to any of them, just had fun with the friends i already have, wasnt in the mood for meeting new peoples, and i probs wont see them again since they're mosty jap and business students. Went to a club after, live lounge.. stuff happened there which i wanna forget about... lets say.. im traumatised.... and will never go to any other jsoc event ever again...

ahhh... on to my 3rd week of lectures... it seems like i've been on the same timetable for ages... time flies so fasttttttttttttt... its only been 2 weeks!! oh welll.... i admit.. i still havent made any proper friends with the people on my course... i think i've given up on the idea... im comfortable with my PPers that i dont really need a whole bunch of new people... well to be fair josh is in our group now... and ethan... they are also physics prelimers.. but we'rent with the cool PPers last year =P oh! and..err..iystyn.. i think thats how u spell his name =S..(weird welsh name... pronounced.. YES-tin)... we was a prelimmer 2 years ago... but failed one module so re-did prelim last year.. but only one module.. so yeah.. he hangs with us sometimes.. and that hes in my tutorial group ^_^~~
It was the Chaos (physics soc.)...welcome thingy last monday.... honestly.. i tlked to more 2nd years than 1st years... i didnt meet any 3rd years... and tlked to anime soc president Dave whose a 4th year.. and some random phD students. Oh!.. so that night i intoduced myself as "fishy".. since its alot more memorable than "fiona".... so i introduced myself to one the 1st years, whose name is oliver... and his reaction..."thats creepy...."... i admit.. i was offended..... never thought my name fishy...would come across creepy..... but after a while... i found it ok not to like this guy... 1)... that night he was talking to dave.. about a neo-nazi film.. something about "skinheads"?... im not sure on the whole thing.. but bascially its about racists.....dave wasn't very into the topic.. dont think anyone else was.... and 2)... iystyn had practical with him... and oliver said that he has a statue of hitler in his room.... iystyn couldn't tell if he was joking or not.... basically... this guy is weird.....its ok not to like him...
OH! last saturday i had the flu.. which lasted like..2 days... i woke up saturday with a feverrrrrrr and went a bit hyper.. and i probs pissed off elaine cos i needed the heating on.. and her room is always warm with 2 radiators.. and mine is always cold since i have 1 tiny radiator.... and yeah it made her room too warm she had to go study in the lounge =P i kept worrying that i had swine fluuuuuuuuu.... but i dont... since the fever lasted like 2 days and ive just spent the rest of the week coughing~~~
*sigh*... ive already told some of you this.... but it pisses me off... okok.. so tuesday i go to karaoke with some friends... and it was like... 10 when it finished and we wanted to go somewhere... so i said we can go back to mine since they havent been there yet... so first we went to McD's first.. and i txted elaine and jess to tell them... and elaine txted back.... "no, we have 9 o'clock lectures"...pfft... I HAVE a 9 o'clock lecture! so yeah we went to andrews house instead. then the next day elaine and jess came up to me and were like.... "we like your friends.. but dont invite them in the evenings on weekdays".....errr....ok then.... i'll try not to then.... honestly i think this is all elaine and jess is agreeing within reason... i mean i understand their point... if u have an early start you want to get to sleep early... honesty on weekdays my friends leave around 1 anyway, which for a student is not an unreasonable hour. To give u the full story.. last friday was when i invited my friends over cos it was one of the nearest places to go... yeah and most of us stayed till 3, with the last of us leaving at 4..... to justify this.. IT WAS A FRIDAY!! WE HAVE NO LECTURES THE NEXT DAY... MY FLATMATES HAVE NOTHING TO DO THE NEXT DAY!!.... anyway!! today elaine slipped this while we were doing the shopping list....basically... a curfew for our guests... her idea... all guests have to leave by 2...this is for weekends too... jess was caught off guard too...and we all know that this whole guest curfew is aimed at me, since im the only one who invites people over.. -____-"... anyway we mananged to push the curfew to 3am. Elaines justification... SLEEP...basically she wants to sleep in the evening... u know what?!... i understand that... BUT!! U SLEEP DURING THE DAY ANYWAY!!... u go to lectures... get home.. nap...eat...have another nap... study a bit.. then sleep.... i swear the girl over sleeps since she always tired and lathargic!!! GAHHHH.. i know theres nothing wrong with the curfew time... since thats when most people leave anyway.. but the idea that there is a curfew pisses me off... i mean wouldnt it be weird knowing ur invited to someones home but knowing u're gonna be forced out at a certain time. I didnt even have any kind of curfew at home.. why the hell do i have one here?!.... gah.. anyway.. im not gonna stick to it... if its 3 and people are still here.. im not gonna chuck them out... i dont want to chuck them out... there my guests and i want want them to stay... elaine and jess dont have the guts to ask my friends to leave anyway...so.. meh!!..... its not like im excluding them out of anything i do... actually i always invite them out to what ever i do, they just never take up the offer. *sigh*.. like adi said... im living with a a bunch of geeks.... 2 medics and a physicist.... and the physicist is the most social out of the 3... what are the chances eh? =P

i think elaine is being over the top with this.. the FIRST (and only) time i invite people round in the evening we stayed till 4am.... who says this is gonna happen everytime.. and often?!... its not like im gonna invite people over EVERY week.. and we're gonna stay till 4am each time!.. i mean i would love to... but it wont happen. *sigh*... im actually being very passive about the subject.. since my place isnt the only place me and my friends can go to, we can go somewhere we're all welcomed, no matter what the time~~~

while im on this rant about boring anti-social people

whats the deal with mainland chinese people... they like... only socialise with other mainland chinese people, the whole of last year.. if i met a chinese people..and actually spoke to them.. 80% of the time there from HK... 20% is malay chinese. I DONT KNOW ANY MAINLAND CHINESE!! honestly i dont know why it bugs me since i dont have a particular interest in them but... the anti-social ness of it bugs me~~ and you know keith is living in a house with 7 other people and half of them are from mainland china.. he doesnt even have proper conversations with them.. honestly... he doesnt even know all their names; i mean keith is not an anti-social person at all... it just seems like hes a stranger in his own home.... like he has no connection to the other people in the house because there in there own little tight group. i mean language isnt an issue since keith is able to speak mandarin too.. and apparently they only speak chinese at home... like.. not a word of english is spoken in the house.. keith reckons they dont know english.. which is ridiculous.. why study in the UK and not know english?! the way keith talks about them.. makes it seems i wouldnt be welcome in the house..... i dont wanna generalise... but HK chinese people are far better than mainlanders =P.... im gonna disown my 30% chinese-ness... since im sure its not from HK... its from Hainan, China.. which is an island... so not technically "mainland", actually its so close to vietnam.. it might as well belong to vietnam =P

ok this was a very odd post... hope you enjoyed it =P....... (im not hating on mainlanders... there just not very welcoming to non-mainlanders... and im not the only one who thinks this...)

*sigh* so its been over a week since i've got here..

last week i only had enrolment on wednesday and induction on friday. Enrolment day was also nathans b'day! so old!!.. and ieuan failed his maths resit =(... but is gonna resit that module this year, so is still in cardiff! yey!! ^__^!.. but you guys dont need to know that.. yeah so we all eventually got to Zushi to have ramen! (minus sam, who does eat... he's a robot!)... so yeah went out to metros(club).. that night.. though me, gaz, owain and sam got distracted by sam's guitar and left at 11, so by the time we got there the queue was maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssive... yeah.. we waited 2 hours to get in!!... and nathan wasn't feeling that well.. so by the time we got in he left!! =O! knob... oh well.. it was a good night anyway... got home around 5~~

Friday was induction for my whole year... theres around 95 of us altogether... i counted like 15 girls altogether... and there was one other asian guy there.. but left half way through the meeting.. and i havent seen him in any of my lectures... so yeah... i think im THE ONLY ASIAN in my year.... -___-" *sigh* actually meeting new people in my course is going poorly... cos the PPPPPPP.. is a large-ish group anyway we dont really "need" new people... and i think cos we're so close.. the other people are probs intimidated to attempt to try and talk to us... i still cant recognise most of the people in my year.. -__-"... though we had our first tutorial yesterday and my group... as 2 other prelimers.. laurence and jade.. and i already knew them! the other 2 guys were jay.. and some guy with a welsh name i cant remember >_<... jay was a nice guy! he was eating bread... he was hung over from the night before.. so the bread was to "absorb" the alchohol =P.

anyway anyway~~ last friday i finally got the internet up! took us 7 hours to set up!!.. cos when u set up the modem u have to go though the whole virgin account set up thingy..trough their website.. which takes foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. so thats why it took 7 hourssssssssssss.. insane!! it was also the night keith came back... *sigh*.. he's a knob... i wont go on about why he's a knob now... cos this post woild super long if i did... oh! other than the boiler being "broken"... the kitchen sink, washing machine and toliet was leaking -__-".. there was a blockage in one of the outdoor pipes.. but thats fixed now!.. but omg yday me and elaine used the oven to make pizza.. and when we finished i switched off the oven, like the light was off too.. BUT!! the oven was still on!! it was still warm and getting warmer... not coolerrrrrr.... so we got scareddddd... it was half hour and it was still on... and we were about to ring the landlord.. but it thankfully switched off!! *sigh*.. crazy oven!

hmmm.. u might think.. why am i bloggin at 11 on a thursday morning... cos i finished my lectures for the day!... i love my timetable.. i only have one lecture on friday at 10!! ^^.. and wednesday and thursday i finish at 12 most of the time.. sometimes in finish at 11 on thursdays. tuesday i have a 4 hour gap... between my 9 o'clock lecture and my 2 o'clock computer lab thingy... but my mondays are packed.. 3 lecutres and a 4 hour practical -__-"... oh well... the rest of my week is love~~ for practicals and comp the year gets slipt up in 3 groups.. and all the prelimers are in one group! ^_^! yeys!! hmm.. cant really think of anything right now... so im gonna post up some picturessssssssss
