My First Flat

So i said i would post of pictures of my flat next year like.. a few posts ago! and now i finally am! ^__^


The Front of the house, which is split into 3 flats, im living in the top one!!, so that tiny square window is my bedroom window, and the other top one which is kinna cut off in the pic is jess's bedroom window.

so im gonna attempt to give u a "virtual" tour of my flat, with the pics i have, i didnt take the pics cos i wasnt there at the time =P

so u'll enter my house. which is number 19! but since i live in the top flat its actually 19C! so remember to find the 19C doorbell! ok so as soon as you open the door right infront of u is a flight of stairs, climb up those, then u'll see the door to the 2nd floor flat(dunno if anyone has decided to rent that place yet, so i dunno who our neighbours will be), yeah so u'll climb up another flight of stairs at the top theres gonna be 2 doors either side of you, my flat is the door on ur RIGHT! (the other door is a door to one of the rooms in the 2nd floor flat), so u'll enter my flat.. and ur greeted with another flight of stairs!! ^_^ so climb up that, when u reach the top this is what you will see....


a skinny corridor, if i can remember the first room on the right is the kitchen, then the room next to it is the bathroom. The room at the bottom of the corridor is the living room. So lets take a trip down the corridor..

Kitchen!



thats like half the kitchen, we do have a hob and a fridge in there =P. i was too lazy to post up the other kitchen photos.

Bathroom!

again half of the bathroom, basically ur view when u open the door, theres a sink on ur left where the bathtub ends, toilet on the right, and washing machine behind the door (hehe i know.. how random~~) so the bathroom is a good size! i think its bigger than the one i have at home!

Living room

living room currently has no sofas.. but there will be some when we move in, so dont worry we wont make u sit on the floor =P

now turn around! and walk down the corridor again and next to the top of the stairs that u came up from u'll see...


another flight of stairs! this one only has like 3 steps... and i swear its the last flight of stairs u'll have to climb. so this upper level is where the bedrooms are. Theres some space on the fight of the pic we're gonna put a dining table there, since we dont have anywhere else to put one =P.
so straight ahead is my room, then theres 2 on the left, first one is elaine's and then jess's

Elaine's room

i think elaine has the biggest room, and she gets the view of the back of the house, so basically she can see the "garden".. which is basically a concrete square =P.. which most student houses have since students dont have time to do gardening =P

Jess's room

is the room next to mine! gahh i wish we could change the curtains... -__-"

The the most important room... MINE!!

i have a tiny window! so cute!.. yeah i basically have the smallest room.. cos i wanted it cos of the tiny window and curved roof, which i dont have a pic of.


at the time i have no bed in my room, just a matteress wrapped in plastic.. my sister said i should keep it like that and not have a bed.. which i somewhat agree with. But the landlord would think i was kinna odd asking to have no bed in my room =P.. oh and thats a very dusty table on the left =P

so thats my lovely little flat... a very white one... ^_^. it looks kinna bleh at the mo since the landlord is doing up the top 2 flats, so no one is living there at the moment; so we're gonna be the first ones! ^_^ but by the time i've moved in and made it more homely, u lot all have to come down!!

the rent is like £255 per month per person, bills and stuff altogether is roughly £30 per month per person. so thats £285 per month per person. The rent is more that what we originally planned for, our original budget for the rent was £230, but there wasn't that many, and the ones we saw.. weren't that nice. so yeah we had to go up.. mostly looking at £250/£240 and a few £260... some of those weren't so nice or a bit inconvenient. so im happy with our flat, it has the best location since its right inbetween the physics building and the bioscience building (where Jess and Elaine are gonna be since they do medicine), its also close to shops and right behind the union! also on the same road as 2 bars =P. Originally the flat was on rent for £260 but cos it has no rear access he dropped it down to £255, (the 2nd floor flat is for rent for £260).. we actually asked the landlord if he could drop it again to £250.. but he wouldnt budge, which is understandable since he's already dropped the rent once. We didnt mind and since its a small-ish flat we'll probs save money on electricity and heating anyway.
